In the organizer's words:
A documentary theater play
6 scenes, 5 actors: inside, 4 themes: Propaganda, violence, fear, conformism. The play searches for answers: How did Putin's war become the war of the Russian people? What made the Russian citizens: inside to support the fight against Ukraine? Has Russia finally lost its democratic values? A combination of documentary and fiction illuminates painful and highly topical issues.
Berlin artists with Russian backgrounds perform a play that examines the personal and collective responsibility of citizens for events in their country of origin. The play is based on documentary material (interviews, publications, social media, videos, etc.) from Russia as well as dramaturgical texts. Each: r of the protagonist: inside has a reason not to take a stand against the war and each: r experiences his/her borderline situation. They act against their own conscience, conform or are scared to death. Why? Maybe this mystery will be solved together with the audience!
Approx. 100 minutes (in German) followed by a panel discussion with invited experts.
