In the organizer's words:

Exhibition & school class workshops:

Young people with and without disabilities show their view of the city of Munich: Where do I meet friends? Where do I go to work? Which places are special to me? What becomes visible and how the urban space is experienced is shaped by the perspective of adults and people who are not "handicapped" by language, infrastructure, regulations or prejudices. This project produced short documentary films that open up a different perspective on urban space.

In a three-day practical workshop at the OBA - offene Behindertenarbeit im Löhehaus, the participants learned how to
participants learned about image design, camera movements, conducting interviews and editing with an editing program. The filmmakers took us to four of their favorite locations: the Münchner Kammerspiele, Münchner Stadtbibliothek Neuhausen, Café Wohnwerk and the Südbayerische Wohn- und Werkstätten SWW, where they shot their own films. The aim: to familiarize themselves with the documentary film genre, conduct interviews themselves and, above all, have a lot of fun behind and in front of the camera. In February 2024, they took over the Instagram channel of DOK.education and attracted a lot of attention with their portraits of cities filmed on edge.

As part of the 39th International Documentary Film Festival Munich, the short films and interviews can be seen in an exhibition at the city library in Motorama. The exhibition also offers visitors various opportunities to take part and become part of the exhibition themselves.

Exhibition opening with panel discussion is on Saturday, May 4, 2024, 4 p.m.
