Idil Mese

Turkish singer-songwriter Idil Mese combines contemporary folk with profound storytelling about love, loss and truth. She touches her audience with her classical guitar and expressive voice, accompanied by Dortmund multi-instrumentalist Jesper Poelke, who weaves a colorful tapestry of international folk influences with guitar, mandolin, flutes and more.
In addition to her own songs, Mese also interprets Turkish tangos and classics. In her project Idil Mese Sound Experiments, she explores the interfaces of song structure, lyricism and improvisation live.
She became known through electronic collaborations with Oceanvs Orientalis, Acid Pauli and Da Poet. Her trip-hop project Rain Lab has taken her to international festival stages such as the Istanbul Jazz Festival and XJazz.
She has been releasing acoustic works on Ada Müzik since 2019 and performs worldwide - always with her unmistakable blend of traditional depth, global sound and personal touch.
