IKES'S CREEK - Roots-Americana

IKE'S CREEK combines great songwriting, bluesy vocals and virtuoso instrumental playing and is one of the most original Americana bands from Los Angeles. With Korey Simeone's captivating fiddle playing and expressive voice, Tom Moose's brilliant guitar and mandolin playing and Cori Cable Kidder's powerful vocals, Ikes Creek took first place in the "Best Band" category at the Topanga Banjo Fiddle Contest. The band is considered one of the most important new voices on the Southern California roots-Americana scene.

Korey Simeone grew up in rural Idaho and was influenced by folk and country music there, which led him to the fiddle. During an extended stay in Germany, he studied classical violin playing. In addition to the fiddle, he also plays guitar, dobro, mandolin and sings. He has either played together or shared the stage with well-known greats such as Earls Scruggs, Bela Fleck and Dolly Parton.

Born in Germany, Tom Moose is a multi-instrumentalist and composer living in Los Angeles. He studied classical violin and jazz, played punk rock and funk concerts on Saturday nights and chamber and church music on Sunday mornings. He has played bluegrass, classical, Irish and jazz music on mandolin, violin and guitar throughout Southern California in recent years.
