When silver star stickers sparkle on pastel-colored guitars at Schleuse Zwei in the Bilker Bunker, the long-awaited indie band sound returns to the stage. And in the form of Angelic In Jeans - with a rock 'n' roll attitude and a pinch of self-care.

Having met at the snack machine of the Düsseldorf Institute for Music and Media, the mid-20-year-olds now want to conquer the world as rock stars. Reaching for the glitter stars, so to speak. Meryem Saral (vocals, electric guitar) and Alina Goering (bass), with support on drums, offer a rousing live performance that gets the blood pumping in such a way that even the stiffest bodies find themselves dancing in the mosh pit.

Imposed ideals of beauty, consumer compulsion, a life in the comment columns: Angelic In Jeans transform the pressing issues of their time into glamorous storylines with captivating melodies. Guitar sounds peppered with humor float on a cloudy foundation, complemented by tongue-in-cheek lyrics. Paired with a pleasantly raw grunge sound, Angelic In Jeans create their unmistakable musical language. The all-female rock formation joins the sound aesthetics of bands such as Wet Leg, Lime Garden or Hole.
