"Dance the distance!" Doris Uhlich's debut at the Münchner Kammerspiele with "Habitat - Pandemic Version" in 2020 is legendary. Back then, 13 Munich residents danced naked together at a time when all contact was forbidden and every encounter had to be measured. Now the choreographer meets up with a large group from the theater ensemble and takes them into unknown territory. High-speed beats make everyone sweat, into a shared frenzy, but at the same time also make very different bodies speak directly to each other in an unusual way - from body to body.
What image do we create together? Uhlich invites the actors to surrender to the energy of permanent change: Nothing stays the same, everything changes. People must have the ability to constantly learn and reinvent themselves, upheavals become a feature of biographies.
The set and costumes are largely made up of transformed materials from the collection. The ensemble places itself in relation to the past and creates something new. The new (dis)order begins on stage and spreads into the auditorium. What does it feel like to reassemble a society?
