In black and white - for 4 hands on 2 pianos:

On two evenings, this unusual concert format juxtaposes piano duos (see 23.04.) from notated new music with piano duos from contemporary improvised music. Each piano duo plays a concert part lasting 60-70 minutes.

Two personalities on the same instrument enter into a direct musical exchange. This results in a particularly strong dynamic that always leads to unique and often unpredictable interpretations.

MANTRA - Karlheinz Stockhausen
Karlheinz Stockhausen's "Mantra" for two pianos, ring modulators, crotales, woodblocks (1970)

Mantra, composed in 1970 by Karlheinz Stockhausen for two pianos, antique cymbals and ring modulators, has long since attained cult status. With this work, based on a single formula - the mantra - Stockhausen returns to traditional notation after devoting a decade to process composition, electronic music(Hymnen) and intuitive music(Aus den sieben Tagen...). Fascinated by Anton Webern and Sri Aurobindo, Stockhausen "creates a musical miniature of the unified macro-structure of the cosmos with the unified construction of Mantra ."

Underwater Consciousnes

Underwater Consciousness blurs the boundaries between free improvisation and spontaneous composition, capturing the exploration of textural depth, rhythmic complexity and layered structures in a delicate yet captivating piano dialog. The music springs from a shared rhythmic sensibility and draws the listener into immersive soundscapes of urgency and introspection.
