The Treibhaus Acts concert series presents three Munich indie newcomer acts:

Skratchwork's songs deal with the forlornness of Generation Y and celebrate failure with a bang. Based on classic indie rock, the sound aesthetics of the 60s and Britpop, broken up by changing rhythms and original melodic compositions, form their simultaneously nostalgic and modern sound.

Magical Fridge (indie funk) Instagram

... is an indie-rock-jazz-funk band founded in 2020 by four young people from Munich. Influenced by bands such as "Jamiroquai", "Arctic Monkeys", "Red Hot Chili Peppers" and "The Reign of Kindo", Magical Fridge combine groovy hip-hop beats and rhythmic guitars with melodic baselines and rocking vocal melodies. As the band name suggests, the lyrics deal with Kitchen appliances. Whether a depressed toaster tells his story, the protagonist is afraid of an evil microwave or the washing machine has once again swallowed all the socks, here you can find out everything about the inner workings of your favorite household appliances. Sophia Knapp aka Phia Blu is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from Munich by choice, originally from the northern Italian Alps. She likes dreamy, melancholic sounds and writes lyrics that sound like dystopian, socio-critical fairy tales. Songwriting is her way of radically embracing feelings instead of evaluating them. For her, "melancholic moments have a depth that shows its beauty when it is put into words and set to music." Her vocal style is inspired by artists such as Aurora and Billie Eilish. Her musical influences range from indie to alternative rock (Fink and Ben Howard) to R'n'B.

Treibhaus

With the Treibhaus Acts concert series, the Treibhaus youth center hosts a monthly concert evening with three local, young bands or solo musicians. Treibhaus is supported by the Schule Beruf association and sponsored by the City of Munich's Social Department and District Committee 19. Its young staff attach great importance to affordable admission and drink prices - beer 0.5l for €3, mineral water 0.3l for €1 - and to giving a stage to young musicians who are just starting out and can ask for opportunities to perform at booking@treibhausmuenchen.de

Awareness

The Treibhaus staff are present in large numbers on concert evenings and ensure moderate alcohol consumption (tap water is free of charge), as well as a respectful and confidential atmosphere free of violence, racism and sexism. Please listen carefully to the musicians. The youth center welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds. Queer people are expressly invited. Admission from 14 years.
