Inklusive Schreibwerkstatt „Fräulein Else“

In the organizer's words:

Can a text be hard and tender at the same time?

How can violence be described with language?
What clichés are there in stories about violence?
How can a text make violence visible without repeating it?
Which perspectives are told?
Which are not?
How can we find new ways to talk about violence artistically?

These are the questions we ask ourselves in the workshop for the play "Fräulein Else". Director Leonie Böhm and actress Julia Riedler have reinterpreted the text by Arthur Schnitzler.

It is about sexualized violence.
A man asks Else to undress in front of him.
We investigate: how is this described in Arthur Schnitzler's text?
And how is it played out in the play.
To do this, we read passages from the play.
And attend the performance together.
We also write our own texts on the subject.
And learn and give feedback.
We want to find out: 'How can violence be described in art?

How we work in the workshop:
We want to create a courageous space.
It can be difficult to talk about (sexualized) violence.
It can be that there are strong feelings.
That is ok.
The workshop leader is prepared for that.
At the same time, the workshop is not about sharing your own experiences of violence.
It is about the representation of violence in art.
About your artistic expression.
That makes us strong!

Participation:
Participation is free of charge.
