Insektenhotel Workshop mit Greencity und Bahnwärker

Build your own insect hotel with us!

Our urban green spaces and gardens are often too tidy for insects and microorganisms that urgently need breeding and nesting sites. These could be dead plant stems, empty seed pods or dead wood, for example, or a sandy spot in the ground. If you cannot provide this, you can support the local wildlife with artificially created nesting and breeding sites. This is why we would like to create nesting aids and flowering areas in Isarvorstadt as part of the "Biodiversity in the neighborhood" project in order to establish a stepping stone biotope network for wild bees.

Together with the Bahnwärker-Kollektiv, we have planned a workshop on the construction of insect hotels on the Bahnwärter Thiel site. At one station, you will gain an exciting insight into the life of wild bees, their habitats and their nesting needs. Together we will explore which types of nesting sites are sought out by different wild bees and insects and which characteristics they need to have in order to be optimal. These findings should then inspire you at the next station to build insect hotels together according to the criteria you have learned. You have the opportunity to give free rein to your creativity, as there are many different materials available. You can either leave the resulting insect hotels on site so that we can distribute them on the green areas and in public spaces in Isarvorstadt, or you can take them home to enrich your balcony, terrace or garden. Let's make a contribution to the protection and promotion of biodiversity together!

Just come along and bring empty tin cans and work gloves. Registration is not necessary. Admission is free, a small donation is welcome. We look forward to your participation!
