In 2026, Pawel Nowak conquered one of the toughest cycling races: the Race Across America (RAAM)—a 5,000-kilometer journey from the West Coast to the East Coast. Lukas Kaufmann did the same in 2025, finishing in second place.

This evening, Pawel takes us along on the race, recounting eleven days spent at his physical and mental limits, the highs and lows, and the question of what actually keeps you pedaling when your body has long since signaled otherwise. The question of how such an extreme adventure fits in with his everyday life as a pastor also plays a role.

Together, we’ll watch the film “Weit:er” by Lukas Kaufmann (66 min.). In this gripping, unvarnished documentary, he recounts his own race across the U.S., his struggles and joys, his team, and the local people.

Film meets live reporting; two extraordinary achievements come together—and two very personal perspectives trace a race that defies rational explanation.
