Tag des offenen Denkmals auf Schloss & Gut Liebenberg
In the organizer's words:
On Open Monument Day, historical tours offer insights into the development of the castle, park, and church, and demonstrate how architecture, use, and history interact. The tour takes you through a place that still tells the story of changing times—the buildings, monuments, paths, and sightlines bring Liebenberg’s history to life.
Over the decades, Liebenberg Castle & Estate has repeatedly served as a stage for German history: from the visits of Emperor Wilhelm II to Libertas Schulze-Boysen, who used her family’s estate as a refuge in resistance against the Nazis, all the way to the GDR era, when Liebenberg became a model estate and resort.
On Open Monument Day, the exhibition “The Painter Hans Lietzmann in Liebenberg” will also open, and the Traumschüff Theater Oranienburg will stage “Bibergeil,” a humorous story about home, nature, and power.
