Internationaler Vätertag für die ganze Familie

We invite all fathers and their families to a varied program at the Hansa Library from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. All events are free of charge.

13:00 - 15:00 Comic workshop with Mawil - for fathers with children aged 10 and over
Mawil is a comic artist in Berlin. In 2014 he won the Max&Moritz Prize for the best German-language comic with "Kinderland" about a childhood in the GDR, in 2019 he published "Lucky Luke saddles up", a tribute to the most famous comic cowboy, and in 2021 he won the prestigious Wilhelm Busch Prize. Mawil gives workshops and teaches at universities, signs and exhibits at the relevant international comic festivals, illustrates for magazines and music videos and has drawn 5 children's books in recent years, including "Papa macht alles falsch".

14:00 - 16:00 Monotype workshop with Kirsten Höcker
Kirsten Höcker works as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer in Berlin. She studied Visual Communication at the Hochschule der Künste (now UdK). She specializes in children's books, pre-school picture books, reading books and school books and has illustrated the book "Mila und der Meermann-Papa".

14:30 - 15:15 Reading with Tillmann Prüfer
Tillmann Prüfer is deputy editor-in-chief of ZEITmagazin, where his popular column "Prüfer's Daughters" has appeared weekly since 2018. His books "Kriegt das Papa, oder kann das weg?", "Vatersein. Why we need new fathers more than ever." and "Jetzt mach doch endlich mal das Ding aus!" were celebrated by the press and the public.

15:30 - 16:00 Discussion with Marc Schulte (Väterzentrum Berlin), Tillmann Prüfer, Mawil and the audience on the topic of fatherhood

Childcare will be provided throughout the event.

The International Fathers' Day is organized by the Hansa Library in cooperation with "Offen für Kultur" and financed by the Library Strengthening Fund Berlin.
