On the last day of school before the vacations, all the children in 6a brag about their vacation destinations: Mallorca, Florida, the south of France, Dubai. Only Ina remains silent, as she will be spending her vacation in the high-rise estate as she often does - because her mother doesn't have the money for the vacation. When her classmates won't stop asking her where she's going, she suddenly hears herself say in front of the whole class: "To the south!" To prevent the lie from being discovered, Ina stays in her room from morning to night from the first day of the vacation. But Ina hasn't reckoned with Vilmer, the new kid in class. He discovers Ina in her exile and persistently lures her out to make her castle in the air, the trip to the south, a reality. And Ina realizes that the most important thing is not where you are, but who you are with.

Norwegian children's and young adult author Marianne Kaurin, born in 1974, studied at the Norwegian Children's Book Institute in Oslo and made her debut in 2012 with the young adult novel "Almost Autumn", for which she received great reviews and two of her country's most important youth literature prizes. Her young adult novel "Irgendwo ist immer Süden" was awarded the German Youth Literature Prize. The author lives with her family in Oslo.
