Jane & Fargo

In the organizer's words:

When the rock bands JANE, EPITAPH and FARGO go on tour together in 2024, a breath of German music history will waft through the clubs. Included: many original members of the bands and plenty of hits such as 'Out In The Rain', 'Hangman', 'Windows', 'Going To Chicago' and 'Frontpage Lover'.

JANE were one of the most popular and successful German rock bands of the seventies, with top-class albums, sold-out tours and cult fan worship. The band formed in 1970 and made their breakthrough in the mid-seventies with their classics Fire, Water, Earth & Air and Live At Home. In 1978, JANE was awarded the golden Brain label by their record company, and album sales have long since exceeded the million mark. Guitarist Klaus Walz has been part of the group's current line-up for more than 30 years, and drummer Achim Poret (Epitaph, Bullfrog, Geff Harrison Band) has also written German rock history.

EPITAPH are the two original members Cliff Jackson (voc/g) and Bernd Kolbe (voc/b), who founded the band in Dortmund in 1969, and Heinz Glass (g), who has been part of the band since the end of the 70s. After a break, EPITAPH have been back on the road since 2000 and have since released eight albums that are not inferior to the productions of earlier years. EPITAPH, with their unmistakable twinguitar sound, not only toured the USA, they were also the first German band to produce an album Outside The Law in the USA. Television appearances on Beat Club and three TV shows on the legendary Rockpalast are further milestones. In 2019, a best-of album and the new studio album Long Ago Tomorrow were released in time for the band's 50th anniversary.

Special guests on the tour are FARGO, the band led by bassist Peter 'Fargopedda' Knorn and singer/guitarist Peter Ladwig. Their debut album Wishing Well was released in 1979, followed by three more albums for the corporate giant EMI. Knorn was later the founder and leader of the hard rock band Victory, which toured Europe and America several times and enjoyed great success in the charts. In 2018, FARGO released their comeback album Constellation after a 34-year hiatus and followed it up with their 6th studio album Strangers D'Amour in 2021. With Nikolas Fritz (ex Mob Rules) on drums and guitarist Henny Wolter (Nitrogods, Thunderhead), FARGO once again presents itself as a classic rock band from the 1970s. Just in time for the 50th anniversary, the first four LP albums (1979-1982) will be re-released as CDs and LPs in 2023.

So you can look forward to atmospheric concerts when these three legendary bands go on tour together.
