The one and only blues rock band from Hamburg is back - and it's back where it once caused a full house and sweaty dance floors: at Betty's Black Pearl.

Jay The Bird sounds like a damn well-kept secret between Jimi Hendrix, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Lynyrd Skynyrd - only live, loud and close enough to touch. For all those who were born at the wrong time to ever experience Hendrix on stage, here is perhaps the best second chance. No dust, no nostalgia show, just honest blues rock that bangs in the here and now.

This is their second time at the Black Pearl - and anyone who was there the first time knows that this is not going to be an evening spent sitting back and relaxing. If you're not at least tapping your foot, you've probably got the wrong room.

The band themselves describe their sound quite aptly: handmade, honest and with an energy that jumps straight into the audience. Blues rock meets modern influences from pop and funk, sometimes dirty, sometimes groovy, but always captivating. Whether club stage or festival - Jay The Bird creates a vibrant atmosphere and an audience that can hardly resist the groove.

Founded by four musicians with roots in Hamburg, the Netherlands and Bali, the band is more than just a band - it's a musical collective with an international heartbeat. Daniel Rothe mercilessly drives forward on the drums, Oda Roerdink lays the foundation on which everything dances on the bass, while Timmy Hemsen and David Knaack provide the necessary pressure on the guitars. When Knaack also takes to the microphone, it becomes clear that this is no retro copy on stage, but a band with its own character and plenty of soul.

In short: a must for all blues rock fans - and for all those who are guaranteed to be after this evening.

Some bands are formed, others just happen: when Lithuanian Danny Lee met blues-mad guitarist Ole Morisse in Bremen in 2003 with a suitcase full of blues harps and his legendary GREEN Bullet Mic, the GREEN Blues Band was born.

Since then, the two have been thrilling audiences at home and abroad with powerful interpretations of blues and rock classics à la Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Joe Bonamassa as well as their own songs.
