Jazz Against The Machine

From Tuesday, January 30 to Thursday, February 1, 2024, the Artheater will once again open its doors for an extraordinary and diverse musical experience: the Jazz Against The Machine Festival, which is celebrating its 22nd edition and was founded in 2009. JATM promises an impressive variety of genres, ranging from traditional jazz to singer/songwriter pop, hip-hop to spherical electronic sounds and danceable
electronic sounds and danceable beats.

With 4 different acts per evening, the JATM Festival presents a multi-faceted line-up in which genre and diversity play a major role. This sets an example for diversity and inclusion in the music industry.

In addition to some wonderful jazz combos, including the Niklas Wittig Quartet, there will also be several artists, such as Lucie Licht, from different genres of the pop world.
The hip hop scene will be served by Maali, among others, and even those who like to experiment will be well catered for with wipeç and its electronic sounds.

The Jazz Against The Machine Festival is both performed and organized by students from the renowned Cologne University of Music and Dance. As a result, the festival not only offers established artists a stage, but also promotes newcomers and helps to strengthen the local music scene. In addition to the rousing music, a panel with experts will take place on one of the evenings to create space for discussion, networking and exchange on relevant topics in the music and cultural scene.

The Jazz Against The Machine Festival is not only a platform for musical diversity, but also a place for creative exchange and encounters. So be part of it and experience three days full of musical discoveries and inspiration.
