Kicking things off is someone who knows how to fill a room with music: Felix Ziech, a jazz musician from Essen with a keen sense of the right tempo and the right moment, brings his ensemble to Eine gute Adresse to launch the new series “Jazz in Transition.” The program features standards and compositions from jazz history, performed by musicians who not only master this music but truly love it. An evening for everyone who wants to experience jazz the way it’s meant to be: up close, lively, and with no distance from the stage.

Trumpeter Frederik Hesse is currently pursuing a master’s degree in jazz trumpet at the
Folkwang University of the Arts in the class of Ryan Carniaux and Ansgar Striepens. He previously
Bachelor of Music degree at the Cologne University of Music & Dance under Andy Haderer
and Matthias Bergmann. From 2020 to 2023, he was a member of the NRW Youth Jazz Orchestra and has
has been active in numerous ensembles ever since. As a bandleader, he released his
Frederik Hesse Quintet, which showcases his musical style
