Caris Hermes Group

Caris Hermes seeks dialog: between people, cultures and soundscapes. For her new project, which is celebrating its debut at Jazzfest Bonn, the Cologne bassist and WDR Jazz Prize winner has invited her fellow musicians to contribute their own compositions - pieces that tell of their personal roots and musical socialization. Hermes thus adds new colors to her usual brilliant modern and straight-ahead cosmos: a chamber music interplay between jazz, pop and world music, with depth and soul. A moving concert about friendship, identity and what connects us.

Hildegunn Øiseth Quartet

As a member of the Sarah Chaksad Large Ensemble, Hildegunn Øiseth gave us goosebumps with her goat horn solo at Jazzfest Bonn 2025. Now the Norwegian trumpeter is returning with her own quartet. Øiseth, who has lived and traveled in South Africa, Pakistan and the Middle East, combines global influences with modern jazz. With the goat horn (Norwegian: "Bukkehorn"), she transfers tradition into contemporary contexts. She enhances her trumpet with electronic effects - a fascinating contrast between the archaic and the modern that blends organically with her highly responsive band. With poetic warmth, Øiseth presents herself as a dynamic and at the same time vulnerable artist.
