Anton Mangold Quintet

Anton Mangold is an exceptional talent, a brilliant, versatile musician who has been flying under the radar for far too long. Or, as Jazz thing wrote: "Anton Mangold should be discovered quickly." As a saxophonist and harpist in the Rebecca Trescher Tentett, he already caused a sensation in Bonn in 2024, and now he presents himself as an independent artist. With Roland Neffe on vibraphone, Mangold expands his long-standing working band into a quintet and brings a new sound color to the game. The program includes compositions from the current album Oracle, whose moods oscillate between melancholy and hope. Mangold's improvisations are narrative, flowing and full of ideas. He creates intense, acoustic music with a clear tone. A treat for the ears!

Esperanza Spalding

A coup for the finale: Esperanza Spalding is one of the defining personalities of the music world - and she's coming to Bonn! Several Grammys, performances at the White House and at Barack Obama's Nobel Peace Prize ceremony as well as a professorship at Harvard University mark an extraordinary career. The virtuoso bassist with an unmistakable voice remains a seeker: With radical openness, she combines music, dance, body, healing and spirituality. In an intimate line-up, she shows her complexity - a rare concert experience with a true innovator of jazz.
