John Scofield & Gerald Clayton

John Scofield needs no explanation. From his early beginnings with Miles Davis, Chet Baker and Gerry Mulligan to the legendary Überjam albums that turned jazz inside out in the 1990s, the guitar master from Ohio has made music history many times over. His duo partner Gerald Clayton is younger, but has long been at the forefront of modern jazz piano. A multiple Grammy nominee and under contract with Blue Note since 2022, he combines tradition with great stylistic openness. In their duo program, two generations meet - their experiences and approaches merge into a fascinating dialogue.

Marius Neset CABARET

Cabaret is music, dance, weird jokes, lots of glitter and plenty of surprises. Neset's album of the same name, which he is presenting at the Bonn Jazz Festival, testifies to the Norwegian's immense musical imagination. Even with a small line-up, he thinks orchestrally, creating high-energy fusion and tasteful groove ballads with harmonic finesse. Drummer Anton Eger feeds so much power into the band that you could light up a small town with it. The interplay with newcomer Henrik Linder from the mega project Dirty Loops is highly exciting. In 2025, Neset caused a standing ovation at the Bonn Opera House with the Norwegian Wind Ensemble - now he's back with his quartet; and he'll make the stage shake.
