Rob Luft Trio

British guitarist Rob Luft has quickly established a firm place for himself on the European jazz scene. With his virtuosity and aesthetics, he draws on guitar greats such as Pat Metheny, Bill Frisell and John Abercrombie - and refracts their influences into new colors like a prism refracts light. His crystalline, round guitar tone forms the shining center. With his new trio, Luft will be presenting his ECM debut album as bandleader in Bonn exclusively ahead of its release in summer 2026. In their flowing, mature interplay, the three find a filigree sound with many unexpected shades: luminous, subtle and full of quiet joy.

David Helbock & Julia Hofer

Opposites attract: David Helbock is one of the most influential voices on the Austrian scene, while shooting star Julia Hofer comes from a pop background and brings fresh impulses on bass and cello. On their album Faces of Night, which can now be experienced at Jazzfest Bonn, the duo spans an arc from Prince and Schumann to Thelonious Monk and Eddie Harris - complemented by their own compositions, which impress with their sophistication and individuality. From whispering intimacy to grooving expressivity, acoustic spaces open up that become a journey through inner landscapes.
