Jens Harzer & Maria Schrader "Liegen Sie bequem?" - zum zehnten Todesjahr Roger Willemsens, des großen Lesers, Denkers und Erzählers x Harbour Front Literaturfestival Hamburg
In the organizer's words:
Roger Willemsen and books—that was a passionate, inexhaustible love story. A book from his estate, *Are You Comfortable? On Reading and Books*, has now been published, edited by Insa Wilke. In it, Willemsen talks about reading—with sparkling irony, an analytical eye, and, above all, infectious enthusiasm. He pays tribute to great authors, pokes fun at the literary establishment, formulates “10 Rules for Readers,” and reflects on fairy tales, obscenity, and human rights. The evening with Maria Schrader and Jens Harzer is a tribute to all who read, think, and ask questions. An invitation to wonder: a celebration of reading, language, and an insatiable curiosity about the world. And we encounter him—that great friend of thought—once again as a passionate advocate for literature—witty, perceptive, and deeply human.
Jens Harzerwas a member of Dieter Dorn’s ensemble at the Münchner Kammerspiele and the Bavarian State Theater for 16 years. In 2009, he moved to the Thalia Theater in Hamburg; later, he worked closely with Johan Simons at the Schauspielhaus Bochum. Harzer has been with the Berliner Ensemble since fall 2025. In film, he has worked with Michael Verhoeven, Tom Tykwer, Wim Wenders, and Hermine Huntgeburth, among others. He has been the recipient of the Iffland Ring since 2019.
Maria Schrader, born in 1965, is an actress, screenwriter, and director. She has received numerous awards for her work, including the German Film Award, the Silver Bear at the Berlinale, and the German Audiobook Prize. As a director, she gained international recognition with *Before Dawn*; the Netflix miniseries *Unorthodox* earned her a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries in 2020.
