With her sextet, founded in 2023, Jil Pappert creates a musical world that she calls "New Urban Jazz".
With her compositions and lyrics, she not only questions social realities, but also embodies omnipresent emotions and offers a space for reflection.
The pieces you hear this evening will also appear on her first album, which she will record at the end of October as a scholarship holder of the Baden-Württemberg Art Foundation.

The sextet around Jil Pappert stands for a new generation of musicians who are breaking down boundaries between genres and continuing the legacy of jazz with new, innovative ideas. Their music appeals to a wide audience and with their musical versatility and strong stage presence, the band is an enrichment for the contemporary jazz scene.
