Rock and jazz from Cologne and Bonn: the acclaimed quartet Jin Jim presents its third album "New Choices" at the Stadtgarten. Big drums meet brilliant basses, cutting electric guitars meet spectacular flutes. Jin Jim prove that prog, hard rock and jazz go together perfectly. Especially when they are played with such dedication and precision. For some, Jin Jim's sound is reminiscent of Jethro Tull, others can hear hip-hop and Latin elements. What is certain is that the band's new album is catchier, more powerful and more compact than ever. This is not least thanks to their producer Wolfgang Stach, who produces pop (Dominic Miller, guitarist of STING), rock (Guano Apes and Such a Surge) and jazz (Nils Wogram, Hayden Chisholm, Simon Nabatov) with a special aesthetic.
Listeners can expect a tour de force, from the metal-influenced "Turning the Page" to the funk-rock of "Talking Orange" and the dark, spherical interpretation of Björk's "Army of Me".
Lyrical and playful, wild and irrepressible - Jin Jim are a worthy conclusion to the Stadtgartenkonzerte 2024.
