JJ: Austrian winner of ESC 2025 on Act II - Into The Unknown Tour

Concerts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in September

With "Into the Unknown", JJ has released his first EP and opened a very personal chapter. His operatic voice meets modern pop elements and creates a musical world characterized by personal experiences. The six tracks tell of change, self-discovery and the moments in between. He will be performing these and other songs live in Munich, Vienna, Hamburg, Berlin, Cologne and Zurich in September. "My first EP 'Into the Unknown' reflects the past year - everything that has happened since my ESC victory with 'Wasted Love'. I felt like I'd been thrown into the unknown: a maelstrom of media interest, interviews, gigs and songwriting sessions all over Europe. It was all super new for me," says JJ. The album opens with "Shapeshifter", a song that stands for transformation and the moment when change becomes possible. "Back To Forgetting"is the first look back at the emotional experiences of the EP. Unrequited love and heartbreak form a central core. "These experiences were my introduction to songwriting and created the starting point for many songs," says JJ. The title track "Unknown" forms the centerpiece of the EP. It encapsulates the feeling of venturing into a new phase of life without knowing what is to come. An experience that JJ experienced particularly intensely after his ESC victory. In terms of sound, "Unknown" is reminiscent of a modern opera aria, carried by dramatic dynamics, great arcs of tension and JJ'sexpressivevoice. "With 'Unknown' I summarize the basic feeling of the EP: the courage to embark on something new, even if you don't know where it will lead. With my music, I want to translate the emotionality of opera into a modern pop world." "Haunting Me" and "Wasted Love" then pick up on different phases of heartache and processing. The final track is "Ballerina", one of the most vulnerable moments on the EP. The song stands for self-acceptance, personal growth and letting go of external expectations. "Ballerina" brings the development of the EP to a calm, reflective conclusion. With "Into the Unknown", JJis bundling his musical development for the first timeand initiating the next phase of his artistic career. As part of his Act II - Into The Unknown Tour , he will be performing four concerts in Germany and one show each in Vienna and Zurich in the fall.
