Award-winning singer-songwriter and author Joe Bennick delivers a live experience in a class of its own with his guitar and unique voice. Through his songs and multi-layered lyrics, he creates soundscapes that invite listeners to dream along and immerse themselves, all presented in an entertaining and skillful manner. With a keen intuition and empathy, he explores vast emotional worlds through an exciting musical interplay.

Joe Bennick writes the music and lyrics for his songs himself. Thematically, he navigates the tension between stagnation and change. What appears to be contradictory actually coexists constantly; the rational makes room for emotion, and the metaphorical and the literal exist side by side without creating any breaks. In his songs, Joe Bennick reflects on moments and phenomena that are familiar, yet also allows us a glimpse into his very personal emotional worlds.

It is these contrasts that give Joe Bennick’s art its special appeal. He combines bright, radiant sounds with energetic lyrics and gentle poetry with a powerful sound. In doing so, he reveals himself to be a stylistically diverse artist whose music is not only an expression of his lyrics but also always an allusion to the contradictions of emotion. Even on his debut CD, Bennick alluded to the supposed incompatibility of things with the title “In close distance.” 

Singer-songwriter Joe Bennick is also active as an author. His first novel was published in 2016, followed by his first poetry collection in 2021. He is a regular guest on Germany’s concert stages, where he has found his place in the singer-songwriter spectrum between folk-pop and acoustic indie.

For his second album, "blossom and gloom," he was awarded the German Singer-Songwriter Prize by the German Pop Foundation in 2021. In 2023, his latest album, "winter," was nominated for the prestigious German Record Critics’ Award.
