Indie folk, Americana, retro bluegrass - and always surprising excursions into new worlds of sound:
Johnny & the Yooahoos have been breathing fresh air into the European bluegrass and folk scene since 2018. With banjo, mandolin, guitar, double bass and polyphonic vocals, the four musicians create a sound that artfully combines tradition and modernity.

Sometimes raw and energetic, sometimes lyrical and atmospheric - but always authentic, approachable and captivating: The Yooahoos stand for music that touches, drives and surprises in the best sense of the word.

In 2025, the band reached a special milestone: as winners of the IBMA International Band Grant, they toured the USA for five weeks - with legendary stops such as the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival in New York. A success that impressively confirms their musical development.

What characterizes Johnny & the Yooahoos is the combination of nostalgic bluegrass and contemporary folk - full of passion, joy of playing and an unmistakable charm. In their concerts, they unfold a broad spectrum of moods, from rousing songs to poetic ballads that linger for a long time.
