For 25 years, the Erfurt-based ensemble The String Company has stood for musical openness, passion and living "multi-stringedness". World music, Balkan, gypsy, klezmer and chanson merge in the band's concerts to create a unique sound, characterized by musical virtuosity and long-standing friendship. To celebrate its anniversary, The String Company invites you to a special concert: In addition to the current line-up, former musicians* of the ensemble will also return to the stage to play some pieces from the band's history together and bring the past decades musically to life. The audience can expect a colorful mosaic of sounds, rhythms and melodies from the world music, Balkan, klezmer and folk traditions. Uzbek-born violist Lev Guzman, Frank Truckenbrodt (guitar) and Reinhard Schwalbe (violin) laid the foundations for the ensemble in 2001 and their enthusiasm for folk, klezmer and Balkan music has shaped and continues to shape the unmistakable sound of The String Company.
