Judas is about a man whose name stands for betrayal. A man who was reviled by everyone for centuries. Yet without this man and without his Judas kiss, Christianity would never have become one of the world's great religions. There has been speculation about Judas and his motives in every age. After two thousand years, it is time for Judas himself to speak: he stages a final attempt to bring his deed back to a human scale and to lead his audience where they would rather not go: to the Judas within themselves. - Steven Scharf was awarded the Gertrud Eysoldt Ring for this role in 2013.
