The artist Judith Egger and the curator Roland Wenninger have known each other since the Munich Art Prize 'zwei:eins' was launched in 2015. Judith Egger was awarded this prize together with her project partner, biophysicist Dieter Braun, for her interdisciplinary project proposal 'Ursprung/Origins - eine Versuchsannäherung über die Selbstorganisation der Materie und Entstehung des ersten Lebens auf der Erde'. Roland Wenninger had nominated Judith Egger for the prize and accompanied her through the entire project right up to the exhibition. Since then, the two have enjoyed a friendship in which conversations about art also play a major role. In the artist talk, the two take up the lively thread of conversation and discuss the exhibited installation and Judith Egger's artistic path.

Judith Egger (*1973 in Gräfelfing) lives and works in Munich. Egger trained as a wood carver in Oberammergau and studied communication design at the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences and the Royal College of Art in London. Uncontrolled organic growth, parasitic organisms and radical transformation processes are among her areas of research - since 2004, as director of the Parasitic Institute for Hybridity and Empirical Threshold Research, she has been researching the life force that drives everything, the swelling force that is inherent in every organism and that humans ultimately cannot control.

Interview partner: Roland Wenninger (*1967) works as a research assistant and curator at the Museum Villa Stuck. In his work, he asks himself the question: "What can the power of art achieve - what processes of change can art initiate?" He is committed to artists who transcend the boundaries of the political and social. At the Museum Villa Stuck, he has curated the exhibitions Thomas Hirschhorn 'Never Give Up The Spot' and 'To the End of the World and Over the Edge - with Adolf Wölfli', among others. The exhibition 'Tania Bruguera - The Condition of No', which he curated, is currently on show at the VS - the interim home of the Museum Villa Stuck.
