Jugendstil aus Nürnberg

The Pese Collection can be seen in the Tucherschloss. Around 1900, there was a successful collaboration between artisans, designers and art-oriented manufacturers in Nuremberg.

It all began in 1897 with Johann von Schwarz's ceramics factory. In that year, the young sculptor Carl Sigmund Luber (1868-1934) became the artistic director. Luber designed a creative range of products, all with perfect underglaze painting.

In 1899, the metalware factory of Walter Scherf (1875-1909) was added. It produced pewter castings which, in terms of artistic and craftsmanship quality, were able to compete very well with the products of other manufacturers at home and abroad at the time.
