Just a game! A playful evening, animalistic, revealing and beguiling. Four different choreographic styles - but all dealing with people, how they initiate and live their relationships, let them break up or are lonely together. In his world premiere "Humanimal", dance director Stephan Thoss creates a daring mind game, examines the relationship between humans and animals, swaps roles and asks: who is actually the biggest predator? Giovanni Visone stages the game of life in his world premiere "Tafteh". Where threads are pulled, networks are knotted, connected like the weave of a carpet. The choreographer duo Rebecca Laufer & Mats van Rossum, winners of the NTM Production Prize at the "International Competition for Choreography in Hanover 2024", present "Clay", a tense interplay of relationships between women and men. An oppressive situation, a gloomy atmosphere, but not without hope. "Mutual Comfort" is the first work by Edward Clug, one of the most sought-after contemporary choreographers, to be performed at the Nationaltheater Mannheim. A sophisticated play with emotions, a search for understanding and closeness. Serious and existential life themes with lightness, humor and self-irony, a playful touch. Just a game! And the playing of the instruments as a string quartet or formation of two cellos and two pianos - live on stage.
