Fantasy meets antiquity: director Christian Weise stages an immersive theatrical spectacle at the Altes Kino Franklin - bizarre, absurd, tongue-in-cheek, Dionysian. In the "Clash of the Titans", Zeus attained his eternal rule and has ruled over mankind with the gods of Olympus ever since. Did his tyranny of our destiny ever come to an end? Playful and visually stunning, the evening draws on the whole of Greek mythology - a firework display of tragic fates, grotesque parables and timeless conflicts: from Gaia, Uranos and Zeus to Prometheus and Io to Dionysus, Perseus, Medea, Antigone, Oedipus, Orest and Electra. From the creation of the world to the abolition of the gods. For the three-week production at the Altes Kino Franklin, set designer Alexander Naumann has created a blue and pink art world that eliminates the separation between the auditorium and the stage. Titans, goddesses and heroes carry out their tragic conflicts in various settings - with masks and goths, in a parked car or in a wrestling ring. As with "Shakespeare's Dazzling World", which Weise staged in the summer of 2022 to mark its departure from the Theater am Goetheplatz, the audience can move freely through this world of their own and experience an evening of theater full of direct and intense encounters with the entire acting ensemble. For a real theatrical thrill, we recommend the "Extended Version" in six hours. For those in a hurry, there is an abridged version in four hours. With both versions, you can come and go at any time and take breaks on your own.
