From March 9 to 23 at many crime scenes in Munich
Munich becomes a crime scene and children play the leading role.
From March 9 to 24, they are invited to investigate, secure clues, document, combine and solve exciting criminal cases at various locations in the city.
The Munich Children's Crime Festival starts with a really exciting story. Sometimes, as the characters Jola and Finn know, you just have to get away ... The author of "Kannawoniwasein", Martin Muser, will be reading from his novel himself at the opening of the festival on March 9 at the city library in Motorama.
The children's crime festival program continues with a reading by author Kristina Andres and an activity room in honour of the 125th birthday of Erich Kästner and his story "Emil and the Detectives". Above all, however, there are numerous hands-on activities on the agenda: Games evening, crime thriller dinner, crime scene construction or forensics lab and much more.
Thinking up your very own crime thriller? This is also possible during the festival: the writing and book workshop in the Seidlvilla combines the invention of a story with the creation of a real book. If you want to try your hand at writing, you can get inspiration at one of the writing workshops that have been taking place since February and submit your own text to the children's crime
After two weeks of tireless investigation, the festival of detectives will conclude on Saturday, March 23 at the Pasinger Fabrik with the children's theater group Criminal, which will once again take us to the locations of Erich Kästner's classic crime novel.
Since 2001, the children's literature festival has been organized annually by Kultur und Spielraum e.V. and the Munich City Library. It is aimed at school classes and after-school groups, children from the age of six and their families.
The program for the Children's Crime Festival and the Munich Children's Crime Prize are developed together with many cooperation partners. They are sponsored by the City of Munich, the Social Department/City Youth Welfare Office and the Department of Culture.
The 23rd Children's Crime Festival takes place from March 9 to 23. The program can be found here. Information on the 22nd Munich Children's Thriller Prize, which is taking place at the same time, and lots of writing suggestions can also be found here.
