Teikei - Community supported & sailed coffee

At Teikei Coffee, farmers and coffee drinkers form a global community. In Mexico's Sierra Mixteca, Teikei supports young people in training for biodynamic cultivation. The coffee is cultivated by the partner farms and brought to Europe by sailing ship.

Today, our community-supported agriculture for coffee is supported by around 750 members in Germany and Switzerland. That's a lot - but still not enough for what would be possible in the village in Mexico. Teikei is designed for around 4,000 members: large enough to be effective on the ground and small enough to remain democratically active. We can learn from the indigenous communities on the ground: from forms of direct democracy and a communal approach to land.

Dear Reader, join us at Kapitel Drei on June 22nd, not only for a delicious coffee, but also to get to know the community behind TEIKEI. <3
