KAPmeets: Meister der Violine

With works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Louis Spohr, violinist Ning Feng and the KAP present the works of famous violinists

Shortly before his twentieth birthday, Mozart completed the last of his five violin concertos. At times light and carefree, at other times contemplative, these concertos trace the young composer’s musical journey and reveal his unique melodic sensibility.

The overture to “La finta semplice” exudes youthful freshness, while Louis Spohr’s Second Symphony unfolds with dramatic depth and early Romantic expressiveness. An evening that highlights the elegant and virtuosic charm of violin playing, led by Chinese violinist Ning Feng, with whom the KAP recently recorded all five of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s violin concertos for the Channel Classics label.
