Saisoneröffnung: Résistance
In the organizer's words:
To mark its 25th anniversary, the KAP embarks on a musical journey through time with François Leleux and Maximilian Hornung
To kick off the anniversary season in festive style, the KAP and its artistic director, François Leleux, present a program that invites audiences to explore the season’s theme, “Résistance.” The evening’s internationally acclaimed soloist, Maximilian Hornung, will spotlight Dmitri Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto—a work in which the composer reflected the reign of terror of his time and expressed his resistance through music. Kurt Weill’s music also reveals its multi-layered nature when, in his Second Symphony, tragic gestures and emotionally charged motifs meet the popular style of *The Threepenny Opera*. The works by Mozart and Beethoven represent significant milestones in the KAP’s 25-year history, making the anniversary concert an unforgettable highlight.
