A wonderfully grotesque battle between baton, stein and violin bow - a major attack on the laughing muscles. The orchestra rehearsal is one of the classics of Karl Valentin's and Liesl Karlstadt's repertoire and meanwhile also a fixed part of our Silver Hall program.

TIMELESS COMEDY

In this hair-raising, timeless comedy, "Valentin" plays the trumpeter, violinist and drummer in turn. The rebellious "worst" musician constantly interrupts and provokes the suburban bandmaster ("Karlstadt"), driving him to despair. Nothing works out, and that in the most beautiful way. In the meantime, the orchestra exercises itself delightfully obliquely through unspeakable samples of swinging and whimsical music.
