arnivool come to Germany with album "In Verses" in April and May

Twenty years have passed since the Australian band Karnivool had their big breakthrough with their debut album "Themata". The quintet formed in 1997 - originally as a cover band for Nirvana and other grunge artists. However, founding members Ian Kenny and Drew Goddard quickly began to write their own songs, moving away from grunge and towards the progressive and alternative rock sound for which the band is still known and loved today. In songs such as "Shutterspeed" or "Roquefort", "Themata" (2005) impressed above all with hard guitar riffs that meet melodic hooks and emphasize a love of musical craftsmanship that is still the core essence of the Karnivool sound today. "Sound Awake" (2009) and "Asymmetry" (2013) were followed by two more albums with a more experimental character - and now the band has announced their fourth studio album to date, "In Verses", for early February 2026. In a way, the new work accumulates all the experiences the band has had since its formation and has incorporated into its sound over time. The themes of the ten songs on the record range from general frustration about the state of the world to rediscovering one's own identity. It's all wrapped up in a sound that celebrates Karnivool's band history and is a product of what the five members have become as a band and as people over the years. A momentum like this is made for the live stage - on the one hand to pay due homage to the discography to date, but also to show that even after more than 25 years of band history, Karnivool still have a lot to offer in terms of progressive rock. Next spring, they will be going on tour with their new album and the band Intervals as support for "In Verses". Karnivool will be making seven stops in Germany on this tour in April and May 2026.
