East European Folk, Tribal - Experimental - Pop
With mesmerizing mallets, drums, synthesizers and piercing voices, the band creates a sound of symphonic grandeur. At times they take on a heroic intensity, at others they explore raw, almost brutal expressiveness, while embracing a delicate, moving subtlety that brings out the emotional depth of these ancient songs - vibrant, multidimensional and deeply haunting.
The evening will feature the latest album by Mannheim-based artist Kasia Kadłubowska. A five-piece band will perform new arrangements and interpretations of traditional songs from Poland, Ukraine and Belarus as well as her own compositions - personal reflections on traditional music.
The collective around Kasia Kadłubowska focuses on the research and reinterpretation of vocal folk music from Central and Eastern Europe. It reflects on the opportunities that music offers to connect and strengthen communities. The ensemble's work operates at the intersection of free improvisation, composition and pop, combining traditional vocal techniques with contemporary approaches.
Line Up: Dominik Bukowski (PL) mallets, Krystyna Gedzik (BLR) - lead vocals, Dominik Fürstberger (DE) - synthesizer, drums and electronics, Steffen Dix (DE) - synthesizer, brass instruments and electronics, Kasia Kadłubowska (PL/DE) - mallets, vocals, synthesizer
