German songs and chansons of the 20s, 30s and 40s
The Kessen Kerle Mario Leck (vocals, percussion, mouth trombone) and Uwe Reiners (vocals, guitar, mouth trumpet and harmonica) play German chansons with fresh polyphony and meltingly beautiful solos as an alternative to the dark soul of the politics of the 30s and 40s. Not only are they "set on love from head to toe", they also defy the great wars with "Good bye Jonny" and "Schöner Gigolo" and bear witness to the contradictions and tremors of those times with anecdotes and poems. Your ears will prick up and a smile will appear between your ears at the end.
