"A techno label for DJs" is the purist mantra behind Key Vinyl, the imprint of Italian techno luminary Freddy K. With a clear focus on functional and spartan techno, the Key Vinyl label night guarantees concrete funk in its purest form - presented by Kaiser, Beste Hira and Freddy K. Strictly on vinyl.
"If you're a DJ, that doesn't mean you have to be a producer. It's better to express your taste through a label: by selecting tracks from artists you admire and enjoy playing in your own sets. And that's how Key Vinyl was born," explains Freddy K. For many, he is the personification of techno from the purist school. Having worked in almost every corner of the dance music scene, he brings with him a wealth of experience and opinions on club culture - and of course plays exclusively on vinyl. "As a DJ, you have to sweat!" he says. And he does this all too well in his sometimes seemingly endless marathon sets.
But today it's not just about Freddy K. With Kaiser and Beste Hira, two other brothers and sisters in spirit enter the Blitz booth who are just as committed to the DJ craft.
