KiKS-Festival

The Children's Summer of Culture is turning 18 and is once again working hard to showcase the range of cultural education programs for children and young people in Munich.
young people in Munich: First in the districts and neighborhoods as KiKS from June 17 to 20 and then concentrated at the KiKS Festival at the Alte Messe from June 21 to 23:
Workshops and hands-on stations, to be found on nine themed islands, exhibitions in the Alte Kongresshalle, a film program and
stage performances from the fields of dance, theater, music and circus. And the focus is always on children and young people! The themed islands can be found both at KiKS unterwegs and at the KiKS Festival and are linked by a small game. Despite the festive mood, we also want to deal with topics such as climate change and sustainability. At the festival, many hands-on activities and presentations will focus on how we can create small changes and tell new stories with a view to the future. The young performers may succeed in doing this with their dance performance "Fast Fashion", in the "Water Marbles" construction activity, in the "Trash Fashion" workshop, in the mobile kitchen of BIOerleben, or in the Kids Climate Parliament, which uses sound, text and costume workshops to invite people to talk about the climate crisis. The "Water Marbles" and "Climate Parliament" projects will also be featured in the next issue of KiKS-Blende, which will be published in December.
