King Buzzo, legendary founder, lead singer and guitarist of the Melvins, and Mr. Bungle bassist Trevor Dunn are teaming up for the "King Dunn Tour" this fall!
"I've been waiting a long time to play an acoustic tour with Trevor," says Buzz Osborne. "He's a fantastic musician and has the ability to make his bass sound like an oil tanker crashing into a coral reef."
Osborne and Dunn have collaborated several times over the years, including Dunn's involvement on King Buzzo's 2020 album Gift of Sacrifice. Both were members of Fantômas and Dunn was part of Melvins Lite. On the "King Dunn Tour", Dunn will play upright bass while Osborne sings and plays acoustic guitar.
King Buzzo, aka Buzz Osborne, is the singer, guitarist and founder of the hugely influential band Melvins. His innovative approach to songwriting and guitar playing has influenced countless musicians and turned many music lovers into avid fans. Known for his pioneering use of down-tuned strings, Buzzo blended punk and metal elements to create a groundbreaking new sound. Over the course of his long career, which began in 1983, Osborne has released over 30 albums under the Melvins name, two solo albums [Gift of Sacrifice (2020) and This Machine Kills Artists (2014)] and a number of collaborative projects.
Trevor Dunn is perhaps best known for his work with Mr. Bungle, the eclectic and unpredictable Northern California band he co-founded in 1985, but his career outside of Mr. Bungle is equally notable. A member of Fantômas, Trevor Dunn's Trio-Convulsant, Tomahawk and Melvins Lite, Dunn has also written music for various ensembles, performed extensively with John Zorn and recently founded Riverworm Records, a label for "discarded, forgotten and misunderstood music."
