Kino Weltsichten: Spielerinnen
In the organizer's words:
In cooperation with the Turkish Film Festival Dortmund, the International Women's Film Festival Dortmund+Cologne is showing the documentary Spielerinnen, an extraordinary film on all levels. For 30 years, director Aysun Bademsoy has accompanied the first Berlin girls' soccer team of the 2nd Turkish migration generation. In her fourth documentary, the focus is on the next generation. Born and raised in Germany, the daughters now ask themselves the question: Do they really feel accepted here? It seems as if a cultural rift is defining their lives. Referring back to the 1990s, the mothers reminisce about a youth in which the game of soccer provided the space for emancipation.
Free admission.
The film will be shown in the original language (German/Turkish) with English subtitles.
Understanding, openness and coming into contact with people of different nationalities and origins are the motifs for the film series Kino Weltsichten. People with and without an international history, women with refugee experience, their families and anyone interested in excellent, often rarely screened international films directed by women are cordially invited to attend.
"Kino Weltsichten" is a cooperation between the AG Dortmunder Frauenverbände, the Turkish Film Festival Dortmund and the International Women's Film Festival Dortmund+Cologne.
