US 1992, 128 min., Director: Penny Marshall, DF, FSK 12
Because most of the athletes are at the front, officials set up a female baseball league in 1943. After initial difficulties, the "All American Girls Professional Baseball League" proves all mockers and critics wrong and eventually survives until 1954. The story of the "Rockford Peaches", a team in its first season of play, offers intelligent Hollywood entertainment, perfectly balanced between glorification, sentiment, humor, sporting drama and a few sideswipes at male chauvinism.
This film is part of the Women's Weeks 2025 program.
