Kirsas Musik

In the organizer's words:

Mobile opera by Thierry Tidrow and Ilaria Lanzino - In German - Ages 4 and up

Mara and Tara have just made friends when someone new turns up: Kirsa. But the boy behaves differently from all the other children the two girls know. Because Mara and Tara can't relate to his behavior, they don't want to have anything to do with Kirsa. When he realizes this, he withdraws into himself. But Mara doesn't let the encounter with him leave her alone. She has become curious and wants to find out more about this new and yet so interesting boy.

Kirsa's music was composed by composer in residence Thierry Tidrow especially for the Young Opera ensemble, which was founded in 2019. What is special about this composition is that he concentrates solely on the human voice and leaves out instruments - Kirsa's music is an a capella opera! This allows the young audience to consciously engage with the different voices of the singers and in this way also perceive the subtle differences between Kirsa, Mara and Tara musically.

After the performance, there will be an opportunity for a discussion with those involved in the production.

The production can be seen both at the Dortmund Opera House and as a mobile production in Dortmund kindergartens.
