The bright grasshopper Kit loves to play the guitar and, as the bandleader of a cricket band, is responsible
of a cricket band and is responsible for the carefree entertainment in the insect kingdom.
Antoinette, the heir to the anthill, lives nearby. Music is forbidden among her people
and life is characterized by discipline and hard work.
However, a chance encounter turns the two antagonistic creepy-crawlies into good friends. The ant girl tries to make the other insects aware of the dangers of the impending winter, but her warnings only fall on deaf ears. When Antoinette is kidnapped by an overzealous ant, Kit and his friends launch a daring rescue mission.
