Klaus Hoffmann is one of those artists you don't just hear - you meet them. He has been on stage for over five decades, as an actor, singer, storyteller, as someone who not only tells stories, but lives them. His songs are snapshots of a life full of questions, doubts, longing and confidence - quiet, clever and of great emotional density.

Born and raised in Berlin, this city is far more than just a backdrop for Hoffmann. It is a mirror, adversary and home at the same time. Berlin, with all its fractures, its history, its melancholy and its raw charm, continues to shape his work to this day. In his songs, the city becomes a symbol of life itself: contradictory, vulnerable, but always full of energy. You can sense that Hoffmann belongs here - even if he has had to distance himself from it time and again in order to find himself.

With his current program "Ich bin", Klaus Hoffmann looks back and forward at the same time. It is an evening about getting older, about moving on despite all the breaks, about love as a support and about the strength to reassert oneself again and again. His songs tell of falling and getting up, of doubting and staying, of the desire to be seen - and of the certainty that life is beautiful precisely in its imperfection.

"I am" - that is a big claim. You can call it defiant, proud, angry or simply read this sentence as a statement: I am still here, I am still singing, I am still alive. I still want to stay and be. Whatever is meant by this, Klaus Hoffmann has made thirteen new songs out of it. One is called "I am, I said."
